How to Apply Basic Filters to Search

This page describes how to apply filters using the Basic Search feature on the Tetra Data Platform (TDP). For details about using Search in the Tetra Web API, click here.

You can easily apply filters to create complex searches and fine-tune queries using the advanced Options.
From the Options window, you can search for files:

  • Based on the date modified, by source, pipeline, or file category (RAW, IDS, or PROCESSED).
  • Containing certain attributes, such as: platform, custom metadata, and labels.
  • From a specific schema with data that matches the values that you specify

How to Filter Search Results Using Basic Filters

You can use these basic filters to filter search results by:

  • Date
  • Source
  • Pipeline
  • File category

To filter search results with basic filters:

  1. From the Search panel, click > Options next to the Search box.

Filter by Date

You can filter results by date.

Date TypeUser Action
Search for files that were modified todaySelect today beneath the Date Modified field.
Search for files that were modified on a specific date1. Click the Date Modified field.
2. Select a date from the calendar popup.
3. Click in another part of the window other than the calendar. The calendar disappears and the date you selected displays in the field.
Search for files modified during a range of dates1. Click the Date Modified field.
2. Select the first date of the range from the calendar popup; and then select the end (second) date of the range.
3. Click in another part of the window other than the calendar. The calendar disappears and the dates you selected for the range display in the field.

Filter By Source

You can filter results by file source.

Source TypeUser Action
Search for files from a single source1. Click the source in from the All Sources list
2. Click the > arrow to add the source to the Selected Sources list.
Search for files from multiple sources1. Hold down the SHIFT or CTRL keys and simultaneously click the sources from the All Sources list.
2. Once selected, click the > arrow to add the sources to the Selected Sources list.
Remove a source from the Selected Sources list1. Click the source to remove.
2. Click the < arrow to add move the source back into the All Sources list.

Filter by Pipeline

To search for files generated by a specific pipeline, click the Pipeline drop-down and select the pipeline you want.

Filter by Source Type

To search for files generated by a specific source type, click the Source Type drop-down and select the source type you want.

Filter by File Category

To search for files based on a specific type, click the File Category drop-down and select the file category you want.
