This endpoint runs a soft delete. Soft delete means that file will remain in the Data Lake, but will be marked as deleted. This means that file will not appear in file search and Athena search.
NOTE
(For single-tenant deployments using TDP v3.4.1 or earlier only) Using the Delete a File API can result in additional costs from Amazon Athena. To reduce these costs, limit use of the delete API call. For more information, see Amazon Athena Pricing in the AWS documentation. For TDP v3.4.2 and higher, the Delete a File API doesn't result in increased Athena query costs.
