Tetra IDBS E-Workbook Connector v1.4.x Release Notes

The following are the Tetra IDBS E-Workbook Connector release notes for versions 1.4.x.

v1.4.0

Release date: 30 October 2024

What's New

TetraScience has released its next version of the Tetra IDBS E-Workbook Connector, version 1.4.0. This release introduces a new DataWeave Template Tracker, which can help customers better understand how often users import results from the Tetra Data Platform (TDP) into specific IDBS spreadsheets. The v1.4.0 release also expands options for establishing a network connection between the Connector and the TDP by providing support for container-level HTTPS and HTTP proxies.

New Functionality

New Functionality includes features not previously available in the Tetra Data Platform (TDP) or Tetra IDBS E-Workbook Connector.

  • A new DataWeave Template Tracker records each time the Connector runs specific DataWeave templates. The DataWeaver template tracker records the following information:
    • Template ID
    • Template name when the template was run
    • IDBS user who invoked the template

Enhancements

Enhancements are modifications to existing functionality that improve performance or usability, but don't alter the function or intended use of the system.

Bug Fixes

The following bugs are now fixed:

  • An issue in the TDP v4.1.0 release that caused the Tetra IDBS E-Workbook Connector to not give correct privileges to users logging in to the Connector using TDP credentials rather than SSO is now resolved.
  • The DataWeave Editor no longer shows a control for batch size on library templates, because the templates aren't affected by batch size settings.

Deprecated Features

There are no new deprecated features in this release. For more information about TDP deprecations, see Tetra Product Deprecation Notices.

Known and Possible Issues

There are no known and possible issues in this release.

Security

Various security updates were applied, including the following:

  • Various Connector dependencies have been upgraded or removed to patch security vulnerabilities.
  • The Connector no longer defaults to trusting self-signed TLS certificates. To revert to the legacy TLS Certificate behavior, or for instructions on how to add a certificate to the Connector, see Tetra IDBS E-Workbook Connector Installation.

Upgrade Considerations

The instructions in Tetra IDBS E-Workbook Connector Installation are updated to include support for HTTPS and HTTP proxies as well as the changes to the default TLS certificate behavior.
