Tetra L7 Proxy Connector
The Tetra L7 Proxy Connector (L7C) allows Tetra Agents to securely reach cloud services that they otherwise don’t have direct access to (for example, Amazon S3). The Connector is a Squid proxy that runs as software on a Tetra Data Hub in a Docker container.
NOTE
You can’t configure an L7C for an Agent that doesn’t have access to a Tetra Data Hub.
Create an L7C
IMPORTANT
Before you can create and configure an L7C, you must do the following:
- Install and configure a Tetra Data Hub
- Install and configure a Generic Data Connector (GDC) on the Data Hub
- Make sure that the Data Hub and GDC are online
To create an L7 Proxy Connector, follow the instructions in Add a Connector to a Data Hub. When setting up the Connector, make sure that you do the following:
- When choosing the Connector type, select L7 Proxy Connector.
- When filling out the Connector creation form, make sure that you do the following:
- For Name, enter a name for the L7C.
- For Port, make sure that you check with your system administrator to verify that the default port number (port
3128
) is available. If the default port number isn’t available, enter a port that is accessible on the Data Hub machine. - For DNS Nameservers, enter any custom DNS nameservers (separated by spaces) that the L7C will use to resolve remote addresses. If your network doesn’t require custom nameservers, use the default values provided.
NOTE
Make sure that the values you enter in the DNS Nameservers field are separated by spaces only. Don’t use commas or any other punctuation besides spaces.
- Choose Save, and then wait a couple of minutes. The L7C will show online when it's ready to be used.
- Manually Sync the Data Hub that you added the L7 Proxy Connector to. For instructions, see Manually Sync a Data Hub.
IMPORTANT
For uploading large files (more than 500MB), make sure that you select S3 Direct Upload in the Agent and point to the L7 Proxy Connector. Without S3 Direct Upload configured on the Agent, the L7C will fail at uploading large files.
