v2.4.0
Release date: 8 September 2026 (updated 8 September 2026)
TetraScience has released its next version of the Tetra Chromeleon Agent version 2.4.0. This release adds support for uploading Agent configuration and audit trail data to the TDP, and includes bug fixes for the Agent Management Console.
Prerequisites
The following Tetra Data components are required for Tetra Chromeleon Agent v2.4.0:

New Functionality
New Functionality includes features not previously available in the Tetra Chromeleon Agent.
- The Agent now supports uploading Agent configuration and audit trail data to the TDP, making the Agent's
manual.jsonconfiguration file available for download from the TDP, for Tetra Chromeleon Agent v2.4.0 and later. Previously, downloadingmanual.jsonwas not supported on Tetra Chromeleon Agent v2.2.0, v2.2.1, v2.3.0, or v2.3.1. - The Agent now supports custom command plugins, providing more flexibility and customization for workflow automation between Chromeleon CDS and your ELN/LIMS without requiring new Agent updates. For example, custom commands can include on-demand lookups with Chromeleon CDS to list data vaults and data servers, or actions to create sequences and injections directly. To develop and deploy a custom command plugin for your Agent, please contact TetraScience Customer Success by submitting a request.
Enhancements
Enhancements are modifications to existing functionality that improve performance or usability, but don't alter the function or intended use of the system.
- There are no enhancements in this release.
Bug Fixes
The following bugs are now fixed:
- The Agent Management Console now renders correctly at lower screen resolutions. Previously, the outer console window resized to fit the available space, but the inner frame displaying configuration details did not scale with it, making it difficult to see full paths and other information without manually resizing the window.
- The Process Timeout (Hours) setting on the Configuration > Service Settings > Common Settings page now saves correctly. Previously, changing this value and choosing Save did not persist the change; the value reverted to the default of 3 hours the next time the console was opened. This issue affected Tetra Chromeleon Agent v2.2.0 and later.
Deprecated Features
There are no deprecated features in this release. For more information about TDP deprecations, see Tetra Product Deprecation Notices.
Known and Possible Issues
The following are known or possible issues in Tetra Chromeleon Agent v2.4.0:
- When deploying a custom command plugin (for example, files copied into the Agent's
bin\plugins\<PluginName>directory from another machine), Windows may mark the plugin's files as blocked. Blocked files prevent the Agent from reading the plugin'smanifest.json, which causes the plugin's command type to fail with aNo handler registered for command typeerror when a command is sent. Before starting the Agent, verify that the plugin's.dllandmanifest.jsonfiles are unblocked (right-click the file, choose Properties, and select Unblock, if present) and that the Agent's service account has read access to the plugin directory. - To reduce sequence detection latency, the Agent adds a configuration option that limits detection to sequences created within a specified number of recent days. Sequences created earlier than this period are excluded from change detection. This configuration option is per Data Vault.
- Report Templates using Report Templates 2.0 do not render correctly using the Chromeleon SDK unless you are on Chromeleon v7.4 or later.
- Report Templates with pages which require a
Componentcontext do not render correctly when using the Chromeleon SDK. This issue is under investigation with Chromeleon. - Renaming a Report Template that is set as the Default Report Template for a Sequence in Chromeleon will not correctly update the Sequence with the new Report Template name. It will also cause any associated injections to be generated with an empty Report Template. To regenerate these injections after changing the name of a Report Template, you must select the Report Template as the Default Report Template for the Sequence again.
- Because of a lack of the sample sequence and injections for testing, the formula used by the following Report Variables is not verified:
