Threads App Beta Release Notes

The following are release notes for the beta release versions of the Threads App . The Threads App is a Streamlit-based Tetra Data App that helps users to manage threads, which are a way to capture work-to-be-done by one or more individuals. The app integrates with the Tetra Data Platform (TDP) to create, manage, and track threads and their associated templates and blocks.

Release date: 6 February 2026

TetraScience has released its first beta release version of the Threads App, version 0.8.0. This release introduces integration with TetraScience AI Services, QR code generation capabilities, and several important improvements to enhance user experience and data validation.

Prerequisites

To use the Threads App v0.8.0, the following is required:

• Tetra Data Platform (TDP) v4.4.1 or higher
• TetraScience AI Services v1.1.0 or higher activated in your TDP environment (required for AI-powered image capture blocks)
• User permissions to create and manage threads within your organization. Required permissions include:
  • Access to the Threads Data App in your TDP environment
  • Permissions to upload files to TDP

This is the first beta release of the Threads Data App. Key functionality includes:

Thread Management

Create, view, edit, and manage threads to capture and track work-to-be-done by individuals or teams. Threads provide a structured way to organize tasks, experiments, and workflows within your TDP environment.

Template and Block Management

Design and manage reusable thread templates and blocks to standardize data collection and workflow processes across your organization. Templates ensure consistency and compliance with your data governance requirements.

AI-Powered Capabilities

Integration with TetraScience AI Services enables AI-powered features within the app, including intelligent image capture and analysis capabilities for enhanced data processing.

QR Code Generation

Generate QR codes for threads to enable mobile-friendly access and improved data sharing across your organization.

Metadata Validation

Support for required and validation metadata fields ensures data quality control and compliance with your organization's data governance requirements.

Enhancements

Enhancements are modifications to existing functionality that improve performance or usability, but don't alter the function or intended use of the system.

Improved Error Messages

Error messages have been enhanced to be more user-friendly, helping you quickly identify and resolve issues.

Thread View Selected Value Indicator

The thread view now clearly indicates which value is currently selected, improving visibility and reducing user confusion when working with multiple thread options.
